Can I still Worship God? Reiki & Christianity Duality
There are times I have difficulty explaining Reiki to my Christian friends. Being an active member of the Catholic Church as well as friends and family of Methodist, Mormon, Baptist and even Jehovah'S Witness sects I occasionally hear negative e references about my decision to practice Reiki.
If you feel a calling to learn more about healing techniques associated with crystals, essential oils etc. but back away from Reiki because you found it difficult to answer some questions and objections raised by your suspicious Christian friends family, I come to share the good news.
While some sects of Christian churches may regard the practice of healing hands and use of incense, healing crystals and essential oils used by anyone other than clergy or Jesus as sacrilegious, the truth is your own perception.
From personal experience, some will argue that using magical healing stones (crystals) makes you a Wiccan (witch/warlock) who is hell-bent on bringing the antichrist. I have to laugh and shrug this off often and simply appreciate the honesty and fear others feel around me and just hope when the next time occurs to continue to take their assertions with a grain of salt because...
There is absolutely nothing in the practice of Reiki that says you must cease accepting and believing in a higher power. In fact, that is the basis for studying chakras, to begin with! Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Typically, similar to the ‘laying on hands’ like in the bible, based on the idea that an unseen ‘life-force energy’ flows through us (God/Source).
To honor and respect one's self is to allow opportunities to and love the source which allows you consciousness and mortal experience to exist.
Discovering & creating a formidable inner power is one of the main ideas behind the practice of Reiki healing.
